Bruxism is a habit people have who grind or clench their teeth usually at night. Ninety percent of the time they do not know they do this. Over time this thins and wears down the tooth enamel causing irreversible damage. Signs of bruxism are sensitive teeth from just eating or drinking cold water, waking up with headaches, teeth darkening and worn-down teeth. Sleeping with a bite plate, similar to a mouth guard, can protect the teeth from these unwanted side effects.

A consultation with Dr. Miskin will see if you are bruxing your teeth and if you are a candidate for a bite plate one can then be made. A bite plate worn at night will prevent further worsening of your teeth.
